Privacy policy

1. Data controller

For any question or request about your data, write to info@ikenfly.ch.

2. Data processed

Account: e-mail address, username, first and last name if you provide them, preferred language, profile photo, biography, display and visibility preferences.

Activities: imported track files, GPS positions, altitudes, timestamps, take-offs and landings, wings and equipment, personal notes, computed statistics, and heart rate if your files contain it.

Relationships: friend requests, accepted friendships, share links you create.

Subscription: status, renewal dates and payment identifiers provided by Stripe (never card data).

Technical: server logs needed for security and troubleshooting.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Providing the logbook, track analysis, maps, statistics and the sharing you request (performance of the contract).

Sending service e-mails: account creation, password reset, friend requests, equipment check reminders, subscription confirmations (performance of the contract).

Keeping the service secure, preventing abuse and fixing errors (legitimate interest).

Complying with legal and accounting obligations.

No advertising, no commercial profiling, no sale of data.

4. Visibility: who sees what

By default an activity is private: only you can access it.

A “friends” activity is visible to pilots whose friend request you accepted, with your name or username depending on your profile preferences.

A public activity and a share link are reachable without signing in; a share link expires after 14 days.

The counters shown on the home page are anonymous totals, with no personal data.

5. Processors and hosting

Hosting of the database, authentication and files: cloud infrastructure operated for ikenfly, with encryption in transit and at rest.

Payments: Stripe (card and subscription processing).

Transactional e-mail: an e-mail delivery provider, for service messages only.

Map and context data: OpenStreetMap (maps), Open-Meteo (terrain model), OpenAIP (airspace), Cesium (3D terrain). These services receive the display requests needed, never your identity.

Some processors may handle data outside Switzerland, in the European Union or in the United States, on the basis of appropriate contractual safeguards (standard data protection clauses).

6. Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists.

When your account is deleted, your activities, tracks and files are erased; billing records are kept for the period required by law.

Share links expire automatically after 14 days.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object, as well as the right to data portability.

A full export of your original files and a summary is available at any time from the Import page.

8. Cookies and local storage

ikenfly only uses cookies and local storage that are necessary to operate: sign-in session, chosen language and display preferences.

No advertising cookies and no third-party analytics trackers are set.

9. Security

Access is protected by individual authentication and by access rules enforced in the database itself: a private activity is readable only by its owner.

Despite these measures, no transmission over the internet is completely secure; keep your original track files.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated. The date at the top of the page indicates the version in force; significant changes are announced by e-mail or in the application.
